Bands and record companies decide what songs should be considered singles, but thay're not always (almost never) their best songs. I'll keep buying full albums regardless of what TL says or what other "metal gurus" declare is "in" or "out" for metal.I've been in it for 28 years and I have 50 more to go. Yesterday I bought "Screaming for Vengeance" and I only listened to Fever, Prisoner of Your Eyes, Riding on the Wind, etc. I skipped SFV and YGATC because I'm tired of listening to them.
I read both of the interviews, and I have to say I whole-heartedly disagree. As long as the bands I like contue to release full-lengtg albums, I will buy them. More often than not, there are songs on the albums I like better than what was released as a single anyway. In any case, since the demise of the 45 RPM record, what really constitures a "single" anyway? In my mind that will always be the only format for a single.
I am on the other side of the fence. I rarely by CDs anymore. In fact, I can't find a reason why I ever will again. There are a few instances where I will purchase a full album from iTunes (i.e. Dream Theater), but a lot of the new albums are full of filler crap that I won't pay for if I don't have to. I'll just continue to buy the songs that I like.
I can appreciate the fact that buying individual songs is both cost effective and user friendly.

It's a rare day when I love every cd from front to rear...but, if the artist is sincere in their effort, the cd is the thing to buy for me. It's package deal and represents an effort to bring, hopefully, a package concept to the listener and fan.

Hey. What can I say? Follow your bliss:)
> Hey skulls! The O's had all the right moves last night, they're now something like 1-14 in Toronto over the last 15 games there.

Slick, I am actually surprised with the O's this year. Although they are in last place, they are still right around .470, which is a hell of an improvemnt over last year! I was planning on going down to Dc for the Battle of the Beltways this weekend (O's and Nats) but my buddy's family is sick so he is not able to free up. Damn!
But I'll have the games on the tube and the brews will be chilly :beerme:
I agree, I'm actually following them much more closely this year. They have to many 3-4 game losing streaks but seem to come back with nice little winning streaks after that. Brewers look like they are for real, gotta get over to Milwaukee for a game soon. Speaking of brews the cooler is in the trunk of the car, heading straight to the boat as soon as possible ( wont be til at least 1-2:00 )

Some of the restaurants in the park used to sell beer (it's been a while - don't know if they still do). You just had to drink it there - couldn't walk around with it.
