Do you want to hear David Readman, Lana Lane en Davy Vain on one album? Than have a listen to ???????Blaze And Ashes???????? of the band project Delany. Concept albums are doing well in common, especially when a certain subject is brought up. So, readers of science fiction pay attention! Are you familiar with German writer Wolfgang Hohlbein, in particulair the book ???????Chronicle of the Immortals????????, then you can eat your - musical - hart out with Delany that recently released ???????Blaze And Ashes????????. Even if you do not know the book the vocal achievements of David Readman (Pink Cream 69, Adagio, Voodoo Circle), Lana Lane (Lana Lane & Roswell Six) en Davy Vain (Vain) are a feast.

Delany commenced when bass player and writer of lyrics Volker Leson (Wizard) got the idea to form a band wherewithal the new book of Hohlbein could be musically expressed. Together with Davy Vain he wrote the main part of the songs for this concept album. Some will know Davy Vain of the band Vain that had some success in the 80????????s. Since then he wrote songs for Journey, Van Halen, Christina Aguilera, Linda Perry (4 Non Blondes) and???????Death Angel. The guy knows how to write a song. Beside Vain and Leson a young Finnish guy, Torsti Spoof from Hard rock act Leverage, wrote some stuff for the album. Davy Vain dragged his old band mate Tommy Rickard to the drum kit and on the guitar there are Jamie Scott, who payed in Vicious Rumors at the age of sixteen, and Dano Boland (Wizard). On the song ???????Love Tears???????? we also hear keyboard virtuoso Erik Norlander.

The story, a short version; Delany and Abu Dun (both immortal) are searching for The Phantom after having haerd rumours about mysterious deaths.lice???????? dungeon before a huge fire sparks over London.
And what do these songwriters and singers come up with? Good composed, pompous songs with melody and above good singing. David Readman, Lana Lane but Davy Vain too bring strong vocals on ???????Blaze And Ashes????????. Davy Vain????????s voice is a little more sleazy but that will fit the character undoubtedly, I did not read the book. He shows that in ???????Here Comes Lonely???????? (with heavy guitar solo) but on the somewhat upbeat ???????Planets Turning???????? (with the snoring bass of Volker Leso in the middle section followed by screaming guitar of Jamie Scott) he pulls all the attention to himself. Most of you know Lana Lane????????s voice. She has a strong, but also sensitive voice that is heard well in a song like ???????Eternity Is Yours????????. ???????Love Tears???????? sounds a bit like a song by the band Heart, and that scream at the end!

David Readman, does he need an introduction? I do not think so. His vocal achievement on this album is again of high quality. Strong, with an unknown volume what makes him sing high and low without losing power (listen to the last song ???????London Bridge????????!). On ???????Incarnation???????? the man really sounds like Ronnie James Dio in his younger years and in ???????Web Over London???????? he sings warm as powerful as well and the song could have been from Queensryche????????s ???????Empire????????. The music of Delany is in service of the vocals with some exception. That are no critics, just a finding and does not affect the album. ???????Blaze And Ashes???????? has become a great rock (opera) album with a (good) story as a basis. Add a production that is as clear as water to it and you have a record that will be on a high on my 2009 list.

Hey Ironskulls! Yes we are quite excited about tonights game here in the Madcity. Its on late here also but thats not going to keep me away. But it will keep me away from watching it in the bars, 5:30 comes awfully early here in the Midwest also...I think approximately 1 hour after it hits you! Go Bucky! I did catch most of the that Uconn game. Holy s**t Kemba Walker is amazing. He nailed down like 36 points. Not sure he would be able to get around those monsters in NBA, but imagine he'll be up for draft after this season is done.

It was an ugly game, Badgers missed 17 straight shots at one point. And yes, Kemba is amazing! I would think he'll go for the NBA and the many millions of dollars that go with that rather then playing 1 more year

Still have Butler, Richmond and VCU. I think alot of brackets are busted! It's cool though, I like it when the small conf's kick some ass, although VCU did take out my Hoyas. Bummed George Mason did not go futher, but they had a rough couple there...
