Good. We don't need to hear them anymore than what we already do.
It's funny that even with all the Dokken coming around (I counted 5 just for the time I was on yesterday at work) I still see some come across as "requested but not dedicated". So someone is still able to pick them, and I honestly think they are doing it to be an a-hole.
It's a shame because I love Dokken, but now I usually don't listen to the songs as they come by because I don't want to get completely sick of them...

Yeah..I hear you guys...I'd really like to re-do the whole playlist logic to use a combination of song weighting, song ratings, etc...
In the mean time, I'm going to list out the top played songs, and bump their weighting down so that will help to limit those...Guess I can also go thru some of the thousands of other songs, too :)
On a side note: When a song is requested, it's rating goes up...When it's played it's rating goes down. A listener request currently bumps up the weighting by a factor of 3, while playing the song, only decreases it by one...Over time, I think that may be why we're hearing some songs more...
It is overkill on many fronts, so I'll look into changing some things...Ever feel like there isn't enough time in a day? :)

Crazy I say the same thing about some of the ratings and am told NO WAY why would someone just be an asshole on the site? Maybe they are just honest ratings...blah blah blah. :twisted:

Is it possible to change those numbers in SAM? That logic seems to be designed to simulate popular radio, where a new ???????hit?????? song is played to death until the next one comes along. I think that is a drastically different concept from the one HR80s is built on. If you changed the amount that playing a song reduces the weighting from 1 to 2, that would cause Dokken, Y&T, Ratt, etc. to get ???????played out?????? sooner. That probably means SAM will just move on to a different artist or album, but it would speed up the cycle time.

I've bumped a lot of Y&T, Dokken and Ratt songs from the highest rotation categories (Accept's Tuetonic terror was also pretty popular)...If you notice more repetition, please pm me for fastest results...
Odd thing is: I used to be able to control the weighting of requests and song plays, but I don't see it in the latest sam config...Uggh...I'll have to dig deeper, but that might be the reason why so many songs jumped up that high...
