Yep. Unfortunately it's an annoyance I deal with daily. He was overly so this morning. He means well, and I've told him so, but I don't need to hear EVERYTHING. I don't micromanage.

Been a muscle car freak since high school, Doc. Had a '66 SS396 (white, blue interior) in '70, my junior year. I've had Camaros, Road Runners, a Challenger, 2 '68 Dart Swingers, T/A's, and a few others, not including my race cars. Not many people know, but I have, put away, a '78 T/A that I bought new, sold, then found for sale several years later and bought it back. It's black, perfect, with 34K on it. I also have the 'Vette, my Durango has a Hemi in it, of course, and my Civic is getting a new, somewhat radical new motor as we speak. Hope I bought enough nitrous.
I know it's nuts, but I just love putting my foot through the firewall and having shit break loose.

Nice selection of rods. I had a 69 Chevy until 1981 When I bought my 78 Mustang II... go ahead and laugh... most have. Over 100 drag races back in the day and NO loses. I built a beast with that one. Also built and drove for Nissan Motorsports. Drag racing, stock cars, pro solo... done it all and had a lot of success. But alas, that takes money. Since my son was born, all I can afford to do is spin wrenches for other people. My next project is the 54 Chevy my father was hot rodding. He passed away last May and left the car COMPLETELY disassembled. Every knob, nut, piece of chrome... every, everything is in boxes and piles. That one should be a fun one. Nothing goes better with metal than hot rods and beer. Speaking of Hot Rod... that???s my son???s alias here. He loves metal, too. :hbang1:

My best friend in high school bought a '74 Mustang II Mach I (or Mach II, don't remember for sure) and we had an absolute ball in that car. So I'm not laughing.
I like the kind of project the '54 will be. What body style, roofline, kinds of mods and direction? I'm assuming it won't be stock. A 383 stroker would work great for a small block, big block, I have several suggestions. How 'bout a Donovan aluminum 540 Rat with Trickflo heads and a Procharger? You'll need a separate harness for your gonads.
I want to pull the tuned port 350 out of the 'Vette and set it back (since it's a numbers-matching convertible), and drop a 383 stroker into it at about 450hp, which is pretty easy to do with a 383. That's if I don't sell it to a buddy who wants it bad, and find something at the Mecum muscle car auction here in Indy in about 2 weeks. I want a '96 C4 Corvette Gran Sport, if I can't afford one, then I want another really nasty Mopar. I'd love another '63 Dodge A330, I had one as an asphalt short track car. I'd like a street version with a Hemi in it. I could go back to being a fixture at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Like you, I ran a good distance there, a quarter-mile at a time.
And I loved it, too.

Ray Alder is from San Antonio!!! :horns:
One of the best shows from 2013 to hit SA to be sure. A nice home town crowd rallied and urged the band to add a couple of oldies on to the set list which was predominantly from their new record...

I love the original FW...they really got the metal scene's attention in SoTex to be sure. Whatever happened to John Arch anyway?

John pretty much retired from music (he went into custom wood furniture building) but came out of retirement for his solo EP in 2003 called A Twist of Fate, which only had a few songs on it but each tune was really long. I think it used to be here on the station before the Great Sammy Crash a few years ago.
John also got together with former band mate Jim Matheos and other FW members and recorded Arch/Matheos in 2011. This was close to being a reunion Fates Warning album but logistics with contracts, etc made it become a "side project".
I've been watching a few copies of these on eBay lately and hope to get one soon and will try and get it here and into Sam so we can spin it!

Hard to imagine GR without Geoff though and the newest GR album with Todd La Torre, well I'm the odd guy out again, it did not really do it for me. We'll see what pans out from both side musically as we roll along.

Singer controversy to be sure and IMHO, Queensryche has never been the same without Chris DeGarmo...where are all the HR80s guitar slingers? Yay or nay?

Agree, although I liked Q2K and MC II they are still far from the early releases as far was quality tunes throughout.
Just noticed I used GR instead of QR in the ded. You all know what I meant :P

Everyday it's something different with Sammy the Song Selector. Today he stalls and cuts my pick short by almost 3 mins. I'm getting real close on just giving up block play altogether...
Thanks Sam :smashpc:
