> Europe - Sign of the Times
The more I hear from these guys the more I realize how under appreciated they are. They are not just the Final Countdown band.
Hey BL,
I have always really liked the "Out of this World" disc (contains that tune "Sign of the Times"). It's a great album from start to finish.
But you must check out their more recent albums -- "Secret Society", "Last Look at Eden" & "Bag of Bones". I was VERY impressed with their musical direction and style. Hard Rock for sure; Heavier than before and not the "commercial pop hair metal" from "The Final Countdown" ....but I do really like that album, too ;) John Norum on guitar is killer!

Thanks 314 I love this band as you well know. :beerme:
Since Helstar is also from Texas we go way, way back and they hold a place at the very top (IMHO) of the historical Texas Metal scene...
We all have our story and the high school metal band I played guitar in (Xcalibur) had our "big break" to play an opening gig at La Semana Alegre 1984 that headlined Helstar. They were Metal heroes to be sure!!!
:horns:
PS - Helstar went on to release a great catalog and tour the world...Xcalibur fell apart shortly thereafter...

Today at work I remembered, all of the sudden, that today was cover day. So I thought I'd request 'A Girl like You' by Dynazty, but it's not here! The album (Knock you Down) on the station is the japanese version and that cover was a bonus song in the european version. Shame...
Anyway, I just requested Iced Earth covering Judas, nice before going to bed.
Nighty night guys :)

Unless I missed the memo, COVER TUNE DAY has always been the 2nd Monday of each month. So that means, Feb. 11th is it!

No Worries, Eva! The great thing about HR80s.com is that you can request anything you want, anytime you want!
BTW, I enjoyed your Iced Earth pick :hbang1:

Thanks Punkus, I think?
I'm a huge KISS fan, but not of Peter's solo album. His book on the other hand is excellent.
I gave the song a 3. :woohoo:
