I agree Andie. I have tons of 80's music in my collection (and alot of other stuff), but since I have been listening to this station I have discovered bands I did not know even existed, and most rock! I like the popular tunes, and we hear quite a few here, just as much as anyone, but I like it when someone, or myself, grabs a song that has been sitting or we do not know and it ends up being a really great tune or band. Even the big bands like the Scorps and Ratt. I do not have all there albums, so I hear stuff all the time I did not know, and that is cool!
Not always, but most of the time and that keeps it interesting for me...

I heartily agree. One of my favorite pastimes is gointgto music emporiums (read: record stores) and digging. I've found some gems in doing so. I feel that digging for "Rusty" music is the virtual equivalent. Like most of you, I've been turned on to some great stuff via Rusty spins.
Gotta agree big-time with you guys on that one! I mean, I thought I knew a lot of "obscure" bands, but now...I've gotten som many CDs from bands I never knew existed because of HR80s!
Once again got to agree with Walt. Just a ton of bands I never heard of before I got on this site and now...it's all good!
As an example, I like that Slave Raider song that just played (Youngblood).

Me, too. Oh wait, that's why I requested it. BTW, I rated it a "10"

I agree with everyone except Jarrett. Sorry dude, just an opinion. When I started listening here, ( approximately 16 months, 14 days & 6 hours ago ) probably 75% of the songs were "rusty" to me because I had never heard any of them. Ive bought a ton of CD's just because I heard a song or 2 here & loved it. I just played a 5 song block of bands that a year ago were totally unknown to me..now I have all of em in my CD collection and have turned many other people on to them. One reason this site is so cool is that you dont hear the same songs over and over & over..and if theyre Rusty tunes obvioulsy they havent been played in forever.
WOW!!! I requested a block of 5 at 1:45 EST (2 hours ago) and they're still not in the queue...
OK, I've seen some strange happenings here lately, but this one is at the top. Best I Can is playing right now. I requested it yesterday at about 12:30 PST. Must've fallen in a hole, and clawed its way out.
The "HR80's Zone"
Rockhead,

Contagious is one of my favorite albums. I'd be interested to know the different song titles on your vinyl version, if you ever have time to write them down.
Z2H, I'll try and remember to do that.
Nineteen88 - Who the Fu** was that? That was GREAT! Another example of just discovering something new for me that rocked hard.

Rockhead, thanks about the Y&T
My Slade random request is now playing. Someone please put a bullett in my brain...

I remember this as one of the worst videos back in the day as well.

I also have the album on vinyl - think I paid a buck for it.
Holy codfish! My Bulletboys selection wasn't much better...
man what's yall got against slade? I mean yeah they aint much for singers but if it weren't for Slade Quiet Riot would have never found a career. And many others have covered them so much the songs are good - they just cant execute...like Bob Dylan...great song writer but horrible vocalist!

I really like the 70s-era Slade. Stomp Your Hands And Clap Your Feet is classic. And yes, the song writing was good also. Just did not care for Get Your Hands Off My Power Supply. Thought it wasn't up to their earlier work
I get that....I have that CD....but again I like The Darkness too - lol
I actually have both Darkness cds as well, and can take them in small doses. Let's put it this way, I wouldn't put them on my iPod. :)
D:A:D grow or pay is a pretty cool song!
