Bon Jovi - Hook Me Up (3:51)
(By Request)
From: Bounce
Dedicated by:
RCC
As I mentioned in previous posts, Bon Jovi has his place. You call it metal. I don't.
Obviously several of the HR80s faithful hold his music in high regard and I can absolutely respect your opinions.
Just don't expect me to dedicate any BJ :)
Nor enjoy it when you all do.

We have a great one about 10 minutes from my house called Pennhurst Asylum (http://www.pennhurstasylum.com/). It was a state hospital for the mentally ill that was closed down about 20 years ago. It's going to be featured on Ghost Hunters (http://www.syfy.com/ghosthunterslive) tonight - LIVE!

Yeah, great tunes! I was having a hard time finding songs to play for this Halloween since it seemed everything was already grabbed, but those tune were available. Great minds, great tastes ;)
If you didn't know, one "loophole/glitch" with SAM is that you can request an artist even if it's in the que coming up. However, once it is playing, that artist goes to un-requestable (aka "TRY LATER"), so that artist will be unavailable for about 2 hours. Now if you requested the exact same tune, well then I think SAM will wait about 48 hours to play it.
When I sometimes do my "Album Of The Day", I choose my five tunes (same artist, same album) all right in a row, then a tune will play about every 2 hours -- A nice album preview throughout the day!

Ghost Adventures has been there a couple of times.
I also saw it featured on Making Monsters. They did a huge prop at the end of the walk thru of a guy being electrocuted.
Looks like a great place to visit!

They claim it is really haunted, and from the stories I have heard over the years about what they did to the people there I wouldn't doubt it.

I would not either.
Hard to tell what is real and fake on these ghost shows.
It would be kinda neat to go thru a place like that and see what happens.

Personally, I dislike about 90% of Bon Jovi???s music and don???t consider any of it metal (even the early stuff was somewhere between hard rock and AOR at best) but I think RCC said it best:
> The term "Metal" covers a wide spectrum of music. That being said Bon Jovi has been labeled as "Pop Metal", "Glam Metal", "Hair Band", and "Hard Rock." HR80's covers it all, which is one of the reasons I like this station so much.
>
> I like a wide variety of Hard Rock and Metal. I like Bon Jovi and I like Anthrax. I don't like Firehouse and I don't like Slayer.
>
> I'm just one voice among many on HR80s and I'm glad we all don't like the same thing. That would bore the crap out of me. This station plays it all and to my ears that's a good thing. Variety is the spice of life.
>
> P.S. - ... and thank you to all of you guys out there who have turned me onto something great that I'd never heard before or exposing me to something I never want to hear again.
On a related note, I was watching an old interview with Malcolm Dome the other day (I think it was from 1989). He was talking about how the same term (metal) was being used for practically any band with long hair and guitars. He gave the examples of Bon Jovi and Napalm Death, two bands that have absolutely nothing to do with each other and yet they were both called metal, at least by mainstream media.

To the entirety of the HR80s crew:
Respect.
The faithful on this site know good and well what music is about and, to date, I have learned more about a topic (metal) that is near and dear to my heart than I ever thought possible.
Want to crank Bon Jovi? Go for it!
Want to crank Slayer? Go for it!
My sincere apologies for coming across with antipathy towards an artist some of you hold dear. It will not happen again on my part...
Variety is the spice of life? Well said.
Moving forward with peace and a hearty :beerme: to all who hold this site worthy of listening and, moreover, membership!
