Don't know about the rest of you, but I feel Wyldside Radio is the weakest link in an otherwise ultra-cool station. I could me out voted on this one, but sometimes, it's downright silly.
That's just my opinion anyway.

> Ok, a couple more questions to chew on:
>
> 1. Who is the only hall of famer to retire from a team that he never played or coached for?
>
> 2. Who is the only player to hit for the cycle in both leagues?
>
> 3. Johnny Vander Meer's second no hitter in a row was significant for what other reason?
Well, I guess nobody knows the answer to 1 & 2. Jackie Robinson was traded to the Giants but chose to retire rather than play for the Dodgers biggest rival. Bob Watson is the only player to hit for the cycles in both leagues.
Here's a Cubs question for you Andie:
In Kerry Wood's 20 strikeout game, in 1998 who had the only hit against Wood and who was his last strikeout victim.
Wow, the queue is empty. Only 1 request showing. Not sure what's up with that.

Wish I would have know that was Jackie. Daytona's ballpark is Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Lots of statues and stuff on him around it. Not sure what team he was with when he played there.
Kerry - Did you know that game is 10 years old this week?? Suttcliffe has talked about it during tha last 2 games. Don't know who had the hit or the last strikeout, but I know I will recognize it when you tell me!! HEHEHEHEHEHEHE

The only hit was by Ricky Gutierrez, who would play with the Cubs 2 years later. The last strikeout was Derek Bell, which happened to end the game.
That game was played on 5/6/98, so Sutcliffe is off a bit. What a suprise, because he's always off with ESPN.
I think the Dodgers preseason facility was in Daytona, which is likely why the stadium there is named after him. He didn't play in the negro leagues there, and only played in Montreal when in the minors in '46.

That whole kicks ass and gets a bad rap from some...IMO Cinderella was not a hair band...I am sure the powers that be made them dress that way!

couldn't agree more. You can see their "image" transformation as they gained more control over their career.

"Def Leppard - Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad (5:24)
(By Request)
From: Adrenalize"
One word...sorry. I forgot how candy-coated this tune was...
This should NOT be a "rocking" RRG (Random Request Green).
Oh well, here comes 220 Volt...with another mellow tune, but better than Def Lep's

220 Volt - Love Is All You Need (4:09)
(By Request)
From: Eye To Eye
DD, this is a ballad, but, IMO, an amazing, under-rated album. One of my all time faves. When this came out, I played this cd every weekend for what seemed like months. I still pull this one off the shelf and play it a few times a year. Timeless....

Hey Skulls,
I, too, love that album. I still pull out once in awhile and spin it. Great start to finish. In fact, I was the one who donated the rest of the album to the station (HR80s only had one tune for the longest time).

When they were playing in clubs in and around Philly they did dress that way, before the "powers-that-be" were even in the picture. But that's how they all dressed back then - Cinderella, Britny Fox, Heaven's Edge, White Foxx, Arthurs Museum, etc. Plenty of spandex, hair spray, and eye liner was sold in that town in the mid 80s.

I understand that....they all did in 1985...but my point was not to lump them in with even some of those others you listed, they were far superior.

Metallica is playing now....i pray and hope they sound like this on the new CD...I would even settle for what they did on Load, Re-Load or The Black Album....just stray as far away from that pile of crap known as St Anger. That is by far the worst CD released by them and any of their contemporaries! Anthrax may have just become an extension of Armored Saint, but at least it still rocked!
Even the cookie monster releases by Testament kicked so much more ass over St Crap.
Ok I am done venting....I even tried to listen to that cd over the weekend and only got 3-1/2 songs in before I tossed it to the back seat!

I was merely commenting on your point about somebody "making" them dress like that. I agree, Cinderella was the best to come out of Philly, hands down.

White Lion - Lonely Nights (4:11) (By Request)
From: Pride
Da314...give us a review of the new White Lion. I know Mike Tramp is the only original member. Too bad Vito Bratta did not play on this, he is (was?) and amazing player and did quite a bit of the writing on the hit albums. James Lomenzo is of course with Megadeth, so can't imagine he would give up that gig, or that Dave would let him stray far from the nest anyway. Have no idea what Greg D'Angelo has been up too....
Anyway, does it rock????
BTW, hyped about the the new Metallica big time and hope for the same. It looks like it is some long epic tunes like Justice. I have a feeling it will be a mix of Justice and the Load era...which would work for me! Agree on the St. Anger, although I spin Sweet Amber and The Unnamed Feeling now and then (tracks 8 & 9). The DVD is the best part as we get to hear and see Robert pounding the 4 string with them for the first time, and it sounds better live. Besides it was some of the worst writing they did, I blame Bob Rock for half of that mess, what a monstrosity on the production, just horrible! I'm glad they moved onto Rick Rubin...

I heard 3 songs all the way through of the White Lion release. One song was cool, yet odd...About Custards Last Stand...playing is good...and it did rock...When I get ready to purchase some more CD's it will probably be in the mix of what I look for....I usually buy about 10 at a time...then go a month without any new purchases.
