I hope it's not Mr. Banana! Kids these days!
My son really started it.... he????????s always been Hot Rod.

Anyone got a copy of that song?

Would love to get it and have the announcer play it while they????????re taking the field and warming up.
All this MSG over the last few days has been bumming me out. He was scheduled to play in New York City Saturday night, but postponed until June.

I think it's the fourth time he's canceled. I'm beginning to take it personally!
Got a call and missed my song...again. Let's see if I hear this one, one of my fave tunes from these guys. Great Friday racker too :>) Hey Slick, who ya pickin for the Sat games? I think we are going to see Uconn and NC for the final.

Being in NC - I have been told I have to root for them by coworkers.
Personally, I want to be able to wear my long sleeved green Mich State shirt on Monday!!!
Nice block, Andie!

> Does anyone remember that cop show from the 80s, "Sledge Hammer"? I used to love it. I've just watched the pilot and the 2nd ep of the first season, it was really funny. I wonder if anyone else used to watch it.

just wondering...
I think I saw it once or twice. Wasn't it like those Police Story moviews that Leslie Neilsen made?
hmm, now you're mentioning something that I don't know about... sledge hammer is basically this very trigger-happy chauvinist macho republican cop who sleeps with his colt under his pillow and talks to her and is more or less always suspended for taking down half of the city. also, he likes to try to shoot the light in his fridge before it goes on, and does target practice in the privacy of his own home. :D he's possibly one of the predecesors of jack bauer from 24, except the series is quite humorous, unike 24. and of course, the series was inspired by the no-nonsense approach of clint eastwood's dirty harry :D

from wiki:

"Sledge Hammer! was a satirical police sitcom produced by New World Television that ran for two seasons on ABC from 1986 to 1988. The series was created by Alan Spencer and starred David Rasche as Inspector Sledge Hammer, a preposterous caricature of the standard "cop on the edge" character, with a name parodied from Mike Hammer."

David Rasche back then and closer to now.

his signature phrase was "Trust me, I know what I'm doing."

it's really funny watching this again after decades had passed... takes me back to me being a kid again. apparently he was in burn after reading - i saw the movie, but I can't say i recognized him. hehe :!:
Yep, that is the one I was thinking of. I could even picture him in my minds eye, before you posted the pic.

hehe, cool. man I used to love that series. too bad they made only 2 seasons of it - I remember his signature phrase got him killed. he'd said it once too many times. and then walked into a house that exploded before he could handle the problem. if I remember correctly. :D

have a great weekend. the chat broke down earlier - as did the site - so when it came back up i figured y'all were gone already anyway
> have a great weekend.

You too! I'm outta' here in about half an hour.
funny, andie's current GREEN block doesn't show who the tunes were dedicated by, it onyl shows her name AFTER the tunes have played, in the recently played list.

btw, thanks for the green tinted 60s mind, one of my fave mr. big tunes!

Been doing that for a few weeks now - if SAM is going to put in my name for me, why should I???

Glad you liked it - I had not heard it before.

great pick, SAM. congrats to the 'tallica boys for the induction to the RNR HOF.

I watched the induction Sat evening on Fuse (I hit it up on the TiVo so I could fast forward thru the other bull crap). It was very cool, besides Flea from the Chili Peppers doing the induction (who decides the inductor? Would have been cool to see someone "more metal" do it). Then the boyz came up on stage, including Cliff's Dad and Jason was there also. Some great speeches from each and James gave Lars a big, lift of the floor, hug...man they have been friends for a LONG time.

One of the highlights was James, at the beginning of his speech, naming bands he felt should be considered for the future, including Rush, Priest and Motorhead. We'll see if any thing opens up in the years to come.

Then they jammed two tunes, starting with Master of Puppets and ending with Enter Sandman (Jason and Robert both hammering the bass!) and they sounded great.
thanks for that update, skulls. of course, i couldn't watch it here, no station would care enough to show that over here. they hardly broadcast the oscars. lol. it's nice to see jason up there with 'tallica, and even jamming with 'em. there's a lot of great bands that totally deserve that honor, and like you, i have no idea who decides what you're wondering OR anything else, really.

Nice Chet - I did not catch it either. I will have to watch VH1 for a repeat of the show.
