SS - Thanks for the TEN upload - nice one ! I am glad that Andie and Z2H are also fans - hopefully there are more out there? Great UK band - seem to be more appreciated in Japan (especially) and Europe.
I have all of their albums apart from this one and will see if I can work on some files suitable to upload.
All of their albums are superb - brilliant, melodic hard rock :
TEN
THE NAME OF THE ROSE
THE ROBE
BABYLON
SPELLBOUND
NEVER SAY GOODBYE (live)
RETURN TO EVERMORE
TWILIGHT CHRONICLES
TEN and NOTR were realised as a double CD by Universal/Polygram for HR80s listeners who want to check them out - their 2 best albums IMO. They also produced a Best Of compilation 'The Essential Collection 1995-2005' to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
Gary Hughes has always been the driving force in Ten providing vocals, songwriting, some guitar and more recently, production. However,I feel that they were at their best when Vinny Burns (DARE,ASIA,THE LADDER) was the lead guitarist.
The early albums also benefited from the considerable talent of Mike Stone (R.I.P) in the production department - he produced Whitesnake,Journey,Asia,Foreigner,BOC, Queen,REO Speedwagon and Y & T in his time !
Take care.

Setting aside the fact that the new guns n roses simply isn't guns n roses anymore. I wanted to share something.
there was a review of chinese democracy in a paper today. the tone was positive. it states that the album is solid, and that buckethead and robin finck "almost make you forget about slash". the guitar solo on There Was a Time stands out, and "songs like Scraped, Better and Sorry could easily become classics". it underlines that"Axl still manages to write solid material even without Slash's and Duff's contributions". it is audible that axl's voice has suffered from alcohol and drug abuse, and he can't deliver the screaming he used to deliver but that his "new, low voice fits very well with the new gunners sound"
we'll see what happens.
oh, and apparently, axl said chinese democracy would be a trilogy, with the third part being released in 2012?? uhm... true? who wants to bet on it? :D. anyway, hey skulls - I hope you saw the ded ;)

I've heard a handful of tracks from CD, and while not bad at all, it doesn't live up to twelve years or more of hype. What I heard didn't make me stop and go, "Whoa, what was that?" like the first time I heard Appetite.

yeah, I haven't listened to whole tracks but excerpts from it, but the reaction is the same here, RH. then again, just HOW do you live up to 12 years of expectations?...
will you join us in chat or are you actually working? :D

I was in a band with the drummer from this band - Kenny Toye - in '82 - 83. We sounded nothing like this did.
