> I was gonna ask if this "Labor Day - Top 50" was new or a re-broadcast, but then I heard my voice announce #47 AC-DC's "Shook Me All Night Long" and it was clear to me - a repeat....but still great!!!

"Me Against the World" - Lizzy Borden

Nice job Diamond Dave from the Day Crew!

Finally an active HR80s celebrity :hbang1:

Thanks!!! It was really fun to do those intros. I did them via phone on Chris' voice mail, if I remember correctly. I had about 4 intros in the 40's & 30's then nothing until the teen's and Top 10....I think, ha!!! But I am listening too, to hear this all again.

I too remember the #1 tune, and it was a surprise  But a great tune, IMO!!!

Well, are you sick of me yet, ha!!! Thought not ;)

I guess all of those college radio daze paid off!!!
> Yeah! #1 is a great great tune....I think it is 2009, that's when I started listening heavily to HR80s.

As an active guy with limited computer access, I would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU for the HR80s phone app! It has allowed me to listen more than ever before!!!!!

:woohoo:

You just made me very curious about #1, will listen all the way as much as I can :)
The one thing I can say is that I am hearing many tracks we have not played in years! We had better taste 5 years ago...lol :hbang1: :beerme:
PIRATE RADIO, BABY!  :hbang1: :beerme:
woo hoo! Rhino Bucket!!!

Heh...Yeah..sometimes I think we did have better taste back then...been cool re-listening to this on and off. Thanks Dale for uploading it...and Thanks to the John's, Phoenix for mixing these together (and Eric Lambert for his assistance, too) back in the day!

Great memories! Maybe we can re-visit this again...I think Dale started a separate thread about doing something like that...

btw 2009 and Pirate radio coming up (and of course Annihilator was kept Walt) :hbang1: :horns:  :beerme:
Thank you, Chris! Any ETA on that? I've got to run out at around 4:15 (Eastern) and wanted my friends to give it a listen!
Labor Day 50 II (2009) starts about 3:39 or so station time...and runs until about 8:15pm station time...
Damn! I'm going to be playing live trivia then. Try to get it on my phone during a break.

EDIT: Wait, since it's Central time, I might just be able to catch it!

Aww, I'll miss most of it, dammit!... Either that or not sleeping (again) tonight.
Anyway, I wanted tot thank you all, I'm having an awesome time today, hope a 2013 show gets done! ;)

That would be great, thank you :)

By the way, I'm curious, how were the top 50 songs picked? Only by overall rating or rating above a certain number of votes...? Top ten was very cool although a bit strange.
2009 was SUCH a different sounding list! A couple repeats but mostly different tracks from the 2008 list and a bit heavier! Coming off the double hard drive crash this is pretty much an essentials of hard rock n heavy metal list!
It seems Queensryche's HR80s all time favorite band.
2008 is a much better list, one that you won't find anywhere else.

B)

There's no place like home camarada!!!!

HR80S Rules.
I still vote 2009. That's why we had the Pirate Radio segment after the 2008 list. A lot of the Day Crew disagreed, so we all picked a song to add to the P.R. list. Well, we rocked it! :hbang1: :beerme:
Toad The Wet Sprocket - Blues In A (3:44)
By Request)
From: Metal For Muthas

Turbo, I think you will find this is not what you thought it was. Apparently Toad The Wet Sprocket is a very common name. Who knew?

Well well, I learned something today. I thought this was the same band that sang "Walk on the Water", which is anything but rock. Clearly I was wrong.
