Yup! You got the first one (Go-Go's).

No go on the second one. There was a Browne song in there, but he was not from Balto.

Still open for answer!
Well I would have guessed Tom Petty American girl, but after looking him up on Wikipedia I found out hes from Florida so that would have been a bad guess. And I did look up the answer while I was goofing off on Wikipedia so I wont spoil it with the answer as Im not a cheater! ( except in sports and cards and taxes but those things dont count )

Answers to the quiz questions. Chris got number 1 (The Go-Go's "We Got the Beat"), but it looks like 2 got ya guys thinking. It was a tough one without a search. I know it because it was local guys that did the tune.

The song was "Raised on the Radio" by the Ravyns. This was a huge local hit, but am not sure how it did on the national level. I think the story was someone in the band knew someone working on the film and their tape got submitted.
The tune plays while Brad is washing the "Cruiser" in his driveway. I could not find that clip, but here is the tune. Not metal but a fun 80's song indeed B)
If you click the link I think it will open in another tab because of somekind of blocking. But it will play.

Bulletboys - Tiny Dancer (6:17)

From: Rocked & Ripped

Some songs should not even be attempted to be made into a Rock or Metal song. I would actually prefer Elton to this!

For the Socal Members:

Can anyone name the two high schools used in the filming of Fast Times?

I bet Rockhead will know.
One of my all-time favorite movies. I've driven past both schools many times.
Canoga Park High School and Van Nuys High School.
heh, every time I hear (or read) Van Nuys, I think of 24 :D

> Bang Tango - 20th Century Boy

I prefer the original... like someone said - not every song is meant to be covered ;O)
The Metal Mania Weekend was pretty cool on VH1 Classic last week, but three hours of Sam Dunn in a row was a bit much for me. What a douche.

I agree with you on both, great weekend on VH1 and Im done with Dunn!

Heh...I have zero interest in the oscars...Actually zero may be too much

Since I was not logged on yesterday, here's one more trivia question for y'all:

When Mike Damone is giving some advice to Mark Ratner about his upcoming date with Stacey, he tells him to play Led Zepplin III whenever possible to get her in the mood (or something like that), but the very next scene (in Mark's car with Stacey) you hear Led Zep playing, but it's not from III, so what is the song playing and actual album it's from???

I still love Sam Dunn's work (Headbangers series, Flight 666, RUSH doc, and Metal Evolution) but I think as usual the channels just over play the shows. No different than TMS. They seem to be on constantly and as much as I like Eddie Trunk also, sometimes I get irritated with ALL of them and have to flip the channel

I think Damone tells him to play Led Zep IV. I can hear the song in my head, but I'm having a brainfart.

Hmmmmm, I could be wrong on Led Zep IV vs. III, but I always thought he said III. Anyways, not from either of those albums...

Still open for an answer my peeps!

I can't belive I am the one answering this because I am not a ZEP fan in the least. But I love the movie so I know this one:

Kasmir from Physical Grafitti (their sixth album I think).
