> Dream Theater - Forsaken (5:36) (By Request)

> Hey, I requested this tune and even wrote a dedication, but no writing was there. Is it a glitch OR is this NOT my request?!? If someone else requested it too, let me know. Oh yeah, great taste in music, but weird that DJ SAM let this tune be request twice so soon.

Oh yeah, I requested this tune since DT played in The Twin Cities last Monday night at Myth nightclub. Great musicians, great sound, but I was a bit disappointed. Being a causal DT fan, I was let down and (dare I say) bored since I felt like the show was only for "true" fans. Funny thing since their "best of" CD just came out and you would think they might want to promote it. They didn't even play "Pull Me Under". Am I missing something about DT?!? Anyone?!?

Oh well, what are you gonna do?!?

Although I like Dream Theater, lately I too have found them to be a little pretentious. It seems as if their self indulgence is becoming the rule, rather than the exception. There's no denying their musical talent - great musicians all - but lately, it seems as if they're playing for themselves rather than the fans.

My opinion anyway.

Well said Rockhead!!! Thanks for the input...I thought it was just me.

I got the vibe from the show that "Yeah, we're Dream Theater, we're great musicians...and we know it. Let's jam some more and more and more and more..." IMO, that gets old really quick. The singer would come out, sing a verse & chorus then leave the stage for 5 minutes, then come back and do it all over again. Yes, we know you are good at your instruments now give us something more...something we ALL can enjoy. Like Forsaken, that is an awesome tune.

I like Femme Fatale, but that AC/DC cover was atrocious.

Agree with both of these comments. I was really on a prog kick for awhile years ago so I was buying up their stuff. I recently sold off everything but Images and Words because that album is just a great straight forward album without getting lost with tunes, going on forever....If I get an urge for some prog material, I find myself digging out my early Fates Warning albums, or some euro stuff that does not have insanely long or over done songs.

I was on the phone and when I read this my eyes popped open real woide and I stopped talking mid-word.

Thanks hellspawn for the chuckle!!!
OK my pray/prayer block came out alright except I must note that the Chorus to the U.D.O. song and the chorus to the Babylon A.D. song that followed were virtually identical. I almost didn't know the song changed. And the Gamma Ray song blew. Sorry for that guys.

Check out the new King's X and Warrel Dane cd's. Outstanding and you'll hear the two songs I was talking about too.
"Black" by Jag Panzer is playing right now. I'm not familiar with these guys, but Like what I'm hearing. Gonna' have to do some digging...
That King Jizz live CD sounds like iit was recorded in my basement
Actually, I think it was a hidden microphone in the Ladies' room in whatever hole Ratt was playing in. Most likely covered with T.P. to get that nice muffled sound.
Time for a little Tank Attack! Rockhead, I'm surprised you've not heard them considering I do play them fairly often! In fact, the former lead guitarist is now backing up Mustaine in Megadeth.

Walt, I've seen Jag Panzer in the queue, but never paid much attention. Now I hear what I've been missing. I read about the Megadeth connection, but again, never paid much attention. My mistake, obviously.
No worries, Bro! I stumbled across them here. I really liked what I heard and want to get some more of their stuff to upload here. I saw your post from last night. Glad you like 'em!
Only gonna play four this time out. Somehow, SAM messed up my points yesterday, and I want to get them back to a multiple of five.

THat's so funny cause that bugs me too LOL
I agree. I have lost about 4 points in the last month.
What can you do???
Anyone else lose sound besides me?
yup, sound gone
Ah, the heart is beating again.
ahhhhhhh 8)
Slick, you are right about Aerosmith taking a permanent vacation after Done With Mirrors. I saw that tour in New Haven (Nugent opened) and Aerosmith flat out sucked. That was and remains the worst concert I've ever seen. Thank God Ted was pretty good.
Dino,

I was gonna pick this song by Southgang but decided on Tuff instead... cool pick, even if it was random
